Santa Monica Mountains Fund

Did You Know ...

Although created in 1978, the National Park Service didn't own any parkland in the Santa Monica Mountains until 1980?

The first National Park Rangers sought clever ways to promote the new National Recreation Area and its goals without a land-base. They worked with California State Park Rangers and local parks to design and present innovative programs throughout the NRA. Over 25 years later, the OUTDOORS Quarterly Calendar is evidence of these first flourishing partnerships.

OUTDOORS:

Please Note: While there is no "subscription fee" to receive the OUTDOORS, we do depend on contributions to keep it alive. If you regularly read and use the OUTDOORS, we think you'll quickly come to see its value. In return, we ask you to consider making a yearly donation to help keep it going. Donations can be made on the sign-up page that follows.

Donations are also one way to be sure your subscription request has been received. That's because we don't collect e-mail addresses and frankly can't afford current postage rates to let you know whenever there's a problem. We do acknowledge by mail donations of $10.00 or more, however, which is your guarantee that we have received your request for a subscription.
